I am the director of HUMlab which is an exciting meeting place for the humanities, art, culture and new technology at Umeå University in Sweden. I still run a few projects in my former capacity as senior lecturer at the Department of Modern Languages. My work with the HUMlab encompasses general management, long-term strategy, project applications and seminars. I also try to maintain an identity as researcher and teacher. I am involved in several research and educational technology projects. I am interested in many things (including representation and visualization, virtualization of language, innovative educational technology, media design, maps, immersion, computer games, and nominal number), not least making new things happen, and I have been diagnosed as somewhat sprawling (visit my blog for a personal mix of thoughts, reflections and ideas). This website contains semi-static information of the kind that will not change on a daily basis, and I use my blog for more dynamic (and personal) information.

CURRENT INFO:  I am currently in the Bay Area, California, for some meetings and writing. Our big mid-May event went really well (plenty of films on YouTube) and we are finishing installations for the new part of the lab this semester. We are also planning a new lab for the Umeå Arts Campus, and I am working on a series of four articles on the digital humanities. [October 2, 2009].
